Higher Life Design

Higher Life Design is the title of the unique lifestyle philosophy. It is everything that I’ve learned so far in my journey towards success in all areas of my life. The Higher Life Design Mindset is the mental template I used to go from being a broke 20 something to a millionaire by age 31.

This article will give you the 7 Pillars of my Higher Life Design concept, then my next article, “Blueprints for Higher Life Design” will give you an outline for accomplishing success in all 7 Pillars. It’s so cool! I can’t wait to share it with you…
Higher Lifestyle Design is about designing your life from the ground floor up,

It is all about priorities. My 7 Pillars of Higher Life Design are not new concepts. However, there are new ideas that I have incorporated to living a life of proper priorities that I believe are unique to those of us who follow my system.

  1. Priority 1: GOD
  2. Priority 2: MARRIAGE
  3. Priority 3: FAMILY
  4. Priority 4: BUSINESS
  5. Priority 5: SELF
  6. Priority 6: RECREATION
  7. Priority 7: COMMUNITY

Priority 1. GOD

pillar-1-spiritualI am a Christian. I believe in putting God first in my life. I’m not saying you have to believe exactly as I believe, but I believe that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. Belief in God, to me, is vital to a happy, joyful, successful life. An extraordinary life that is free and full must be rooted and grounded in spirituality.

Life is more than just living every day. There is more to life, and there is more to you than just flesh and bones. You cannot convince me otherwise! I see God all around! Without God, I am toast. We need to be plugged into a higher source; tapped into something greater than our finite human bodies. Only when we are connected to the creative source of all life can we fully experience life as intended. Spirituality is the core to my life and forms the foundation of my Higher Life Design Philosophy.

” “My priorities have always been God first, family second, career third. I have found that when I put my life in this order, everything seems to work out. God was my first priority early in my career when I was struggling to make ends meet. Through the failures and success I have experienced since then, my faith has remained unchecked.” ~ Mary Kay Ash

Priority 2. MARRIAGE

If you are married, then your relationship with your spouse comes second only to God. You must have your priorities in order if you want to have a solid marriage and a peaceful life. You need to pour into your spouse first, before anything else. You must consider your spouse a part of yourself, and work to solve issues before things blow up. The goal is to maintain a mutually satisfying relationship, allowing you to grow as a person as well as a couple. Putting one another first is integral to a healthy, long lasting union.

Love is a verb and commitment in marriage is about looking after the best interests of your mate before that of anything else. Both partners doing their part ensures that the marriage stays healthy, cohesive and lasts forever. A healthy marriage not only benefits you, but it also serves as a light to those all around.

“A good marriage is where both people feel like they’re getting the better end of the deal.” ~ Anne Lamott (Joe Jones)

If you are not married, then your relationships with your friend and significant others are very important to your personal freedom and empowerment. We are social beings, and it is important that you maintain strong social ties in order to be healthy, happy and to reach your potential.

Priority 3: FAMILY

pillar-3-familyMany experts teach these same principals, that your marriage and your family come first, and that is because so many get this wrong. It is easy to get weighed down with daily concerns, financial obligations, personal pursuits to the extent that you forget about the most important relationships of all, and that is your connection to God, your spouse and your family. These ties serve as the foundation to a truly successful life. If you lack balance in these areas, you may win the whole world, but lose the things that matter the most.

“I believe that being successful means having a balance of success stories across the many areas of your life. You can’t truly be considered successful in your business life if your home life is in shambles.” ~ Zig Ziglar

Priority 4. BUSINESS

pillar-4-businessIt is very important to focus on your business, as this is what supports your family, your spouse, and your ability to foster spirituality. So many people, however, focus too much on their business, at the expense of their marriage, family and relationship with God. This is a huge mistake.

“If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else.” ~ Lawrence J. Peter

Priority 5. Personal Development

pillar-5-personal-developmentTruly being alive is about growing as a person inside and out. When it comes to personal development, I believe that one must take care of their psyche as well as their physical body. This means reading books that nourish the soul, maintaining a positive attitude, seeking out opportunities to learn how your mind works and to reverse any negative consequences that you face from the past.

Personal development also involves taking care of your physical body with a nutritious diet, regular exercise and care. Ignoring your personal growth and development will cause you to feel empty and depressed. Making yourself a priority is the best way to feel good and healthy while enjoying all that the life you are creating has to offer.

“The way to gain a good reputation, is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear.” ~ Socrates

Pillar 6. Recreation/Fun

pillar-7-vacationThe last Pillar of my “Higher Life Design” philosophy is Recreation and Fun. How many love vacations? Me too! I love to traveling the world, seeing new sites, experiencing new experiences, and making new memories with my family and my friends. A life without fun is no life at all. We must learn to make fun a priority, and to schedule vacations and fun time liberally if we want to create a life that is more than a prison cell–one that is truly worth living.

“Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals, and values are in balance.” ~
Bryan Tracy

Pillar 7. Community

We are social beings. A truly happy person is one who is connected with the rest of society in a meaningful way. The existential problem of man is that each of us is alone. One way to solve the problem of aloneness is through community, connection and engagement with others.

“Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one. ~ Jane Howard

Now, if you’re like I was, the question is… How can I incorporate all my priorities into my day… After all, there are only so many hours in each day. How can you integrate all of these priorities in a way that doesn’t wear you out and leave you depleted. If you are wondering about this, you are not alone. I have developed a step-by-step system for integrating these 7 pillars into my life and yours, and that’s what I want to share with you next!
